Red Wings Lands Home Another Top Talented Player From A Good Team To three-year Deal

Former Prince George Cougars forward Ondrej Becher has signed a r, entry-level contract with the Detroit Red Wings.

The 20-year-old is currently in his first season of professional hockey with the AHL’s Grand Rapids Griffins, where he has recorded one goal and two assists in 19 games.

During his two seasons with Prince George, Becher tallied 48 goals and 86 assists for 134 points, along with a +69 rating in 121 regular-season games. His contributions helped the Cougars achieve their best-ever season in 2023-24.

In the playoffs, Becher led the team in scoring, posting five goals and 14 assists for 19 points as the Cougars were eliminated in six games by the Portland Winterhawks in the 2024 Western Conference Championship.

Becher was selected by Detroit in the third round, 80th overall, of the 2024 NHL Draft.

On the international stage, Becher recorded 10 points (3 goals, 7 assists) in seven games to help Czechia win the bronze medal at the 2024 IIHF World Junior Championship.
