The Metroplex standout is the fourth pledge for the Longhorns in the 2027 recruiting class.
With the offseason in full swing, the Texas Longhorns continue to build for the future on the recruiting trail. Texas secured a commitment Monday from four-star edge rusher Cameron Hall, adding a key piece to its 2027 recruiting class.
Hall, a standout at Mansfield Summit High School, announced his decision via Instagram. The Arlington native is ranked as the 27th edge rusher nationally in the 2027 class according to the 247Sports Composite.
Standing 6-foot-3 and weighing 235 pounds, Hall has been a productive force on the defensive line. Over the past two seasons, he has played in 18 games and recorded 86 tackles, 24 tackles for loss, and 14 sacks. His athleticism also shows up in track and field, where he posted a 47-foot shot put and a 123-foot discus throw as a sophomore.
Hall chose Texas over offers from Arizona State, Baylor, Houston, and Kansas State. He becomes the first defensive player to commit in the 2027 class since the hiring of defensive coordinator Will Muschamp on December 18.
Hall joins Easton Royal, JT Geraci, and Karnell James in Texas’ 2027 class and is the second in-state pledge, following Manvel’s James. With his commitment, Texas currently holds the 14th-ranked recruiting class for 2027, though the cycle remains in its early stages.
The commitment signals a shift in focus for head coach Steve Sarkisian and his staff. After bringing in the No. 8 high school class and the No. 3 transfer portal class, Texas appears to be turning its attention beyond 2026. Recent visits to top 2027 prospects further reinforce that approach as the Longhorns work to keep the program positioned for sustained success.
