Tony Beasley Departs Rangers After 11 Seasons on Coaching Staff
Tony Beasley will not return to the Texas Rangers coaching staff for the 2026 season, according to a report from MLB.com’s Kennedi Landry. Beasley, who has served as the team’s third-base coach since 2015, will not be part of new manager Skip Schumaker’s staff. The club has yet to make an official announcement.
Beasley’s departure marks the end of one of the longest coaching tenures in franchise history. Over his 11 years with Texas, he became a respected and steady presence through multiple managerial changes and front office transitions — a rare stretch of continuity in a sport often defined by turnover.
His exit continues a wave of coaching changes following Bruce Bochy’s decision to mutually part ways with the club on Sept. 29, concluding his three-year run that included leading the Rangers to their first World Series championship in 2023. Schumaker was formally introduced as the team’s 21st manager on Oct. 10.
The coaching overhaul extends beyond Beasley. Mike Maddux, the longtime pitching coach who had two stints with the Rangers (2009–15 and 2023–25), departed on Oct. 31 to take the same role with the division-rival Angels. Additionally, catching coach Bobby Wilson, who spent five seasons on the staff, will also not return in 2026.
As Schumaker assembles his first coaching staff in Arlington, the Rangers will enter 2026 with a distinctly new look — both in leadership and direction.
