The pursuit of Juan Soto is set to dominate the MLB offseason narrative.
As one of the top talents in baseball and the best free agent on the market, Soto has attracted interest from multiple teams. Many analysts believe he is likely to sign with the New York Mets or return to the New York Yankees.
The Wright Way Network, however, predicts that Soto will remain in the American League and sign with the Houston Astros.

“The Houston Astros were eliminated by the Detroit Tigers in the wild card round, a rare disappointment for a team of their caliber,” the article stated. “Since the mid-2010s, the Astros have joined the New York Yankees, New York Mets, and Los Angeles Dodgers as big spenders, bringing with it World Series aspirations. Given these expectations weren’t met, the logical move would be to pursue Juan Soto, arguably the league’s second-best player.”
“The Houston Astros have the flexibility to sign Juan Soto, while his return to the Yankees remains uncertain,” the article continued. “The Astros have shown they’re not only willing to invest but also capable of winning—unlike the Yankees. Juan Soto wants a World Series victory. He sat on the bench, taking in the celebrations in his own ballpark, using it as motivation for next year. The Yankees, time and again, have shown they’re willing to spend but continue to fall short.”
If Houston were to sign Soto, it would come as a significant surprise since they haven’t been closely associated with the outfielder. On DraftKings Sportsbook, the Astros are grouped with the field at +900 odds, implying just a 10% chance.
Last season, Soto posted a .288 batting average, hitting 41 home runs and driving in 109 RBIs across 157 games with the Yankees.
The Astros Would be World Series Contenders With Soto
If Houston manages to surprise and sign Soto, they would instantly elevate to World Series contender status.
The Astros were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs this past season. The Wright Way Network suggests that if Houston signs Soto, they would become the favorites in the American League.
“The Astros are the option no one is really discussing, and this is precisely the kind of move they’d make,” the article stated. “The team could use a soft rebuild to bring in younger talent. Soto is young, versatile, and would bring excitement to the roster…
“The Astros need to keep up with the Dodgers and Yankees in spending, or baseball will become predictable with only two teams willing to invest heavily,” the article continued. “Adding Soto would put the Astros back on the path to winning their next World Series.”
“The Astros are the option that hasn’t been widely considered, but this is exactly the type of move they would make,” the article stated. “The team could benefit from a soft rebuild to inject some youth. Soto is young, capable of doing it all, and would bring a spark to the roster…”
However, it remains uncertain whether the Astros are actually pursuing Soto.
Yankees Owner Sets Up Meeting With Soto’s Agent
New York will do everything possible to keep Soto.
Yankees owner Hal Steinbrenner is set to travel to Southern California to meet with Scott Boras, Soto’s agent, according to *The New York Post*. While the exact day of the meeting is unclear, MLB insider Jon Heyman reports it will take place after Boras meets with the Mets.
“The exact date for the meeting wasn’t immediately known,” Heyman reported. “However, it was clear that the Yankees were guaranteed a conversation with Soto following his meeting with the Mets.”
Soto is anticipated to secure a long-term contract in free agency, likely in the $600 million range.
