Khyree Jackson, a promising young NFL player, has tragically died at the age of 24.
Earlier this year, he joined the Minnesota Vikings as a rookie cornerback.Early on Saturday morning, July 6th, he was involved in a devastating three-car collision in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.
According to a statement from the Maryland State Police, Khyree was a passenger in a Dodge Charger driven by his friend Isaiah Hazel.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, but police suspect a speeding vehicle attempted a dangerous lane change, leading to a chain reaction collision.
Both Khyree and Isaiah were pronounced dead at the scene, while a third passenger, Anthony Lytton, passed away later in the hospital. Fortunately, no other severe injuries were reported.
“Investigators believe alcohol may have played a role in the crash,” the statement noted.
Members of the Vikings, including owners Mark and Zygi Wilf, expressed profound sadness over Khyree’s untimely death. They highlighted his bright future as a player and his dedication to making a positive impact on others.
Our deepest condolences and thoughts are with Khyree’s family, friends, and the entire Minnesota Vikings community during this incredibly difficult time.
