Report: Fast Rising Three-star lands commitment with Virginia tech

Three-star cornerback Major Preston will make his commitment Saturday night and the latest Crystal Ball Prediction has him landing in the SEC.

On Saturday night, Major Preston, a three-star cornerback, is scheduled to announce his commitment at 7 p.m., with Virginia Tech among his final four choices. A recent Crystal Ball Prediction favors Lane Kiffin’s Ole Miss as his likely destination, hinting at a potential challenge for Brent Pry and his team.

According to 247Sports, Preston is leaning towards committing to Ole Miss, which aligns with Kiffin’s recent recruiting successes. However, Virginia Tech remains prominent in his decision-making process, having been an early offer that made an impression on him.

Preston’s final four options include Virginia Tech, Ole Miss, Colorado, and Florida. He currently attends IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., and plans to take official visits to Colorado or Florida in the fall. Originally from Hopewell, Va., Preston’s decision will be closely watched, especially given Virginia Tech’s recent recruiting momentum under Pry for the Class of 2025.

Pry has been successful in securing commitments from in-state recruits recently, and adding Preston would further bolster Virginia Tech’s rising recruiting class. His commitment would also serve as a significant statement for the Hokies, considering they are competing against programs like Florida, Ole Miss, and Colorado, with the presence of Deion Sanders adding to the competition.
