After completing three seasons with the Troy women’s basketball team and becoming the program’s 26th player to exceed 1,000 points, Ja’Mia Hollings has inked a professional contract with ASA Sceaux in Paris, France.
Expressing her delight, head coach Chanda Rigby remarked on Hollings’ relentless pursuit of her ambitions. Rigby recalled Hollings’ early aspirations to earn her college degree, excel as an all-conference D-I player, and compete professionally overseas. Rigby commended her commitment and diligence in achieving these goals, emphasizing that signing the pro contract marks the fulfillment of Hollings’ aspirations.
Founded in 1942, ASA Sceaux, situated in south Paris, symbolizes hope and peace with its primary colors of green and white. The team’s roster boasts players from France, the United States, and Tobago Vincentian.
Hollings’ impressive statistics include playing 93 games with 54 starts, averaging 10.9 points and 7.1 rebounds. She maintained shooting percentages of 47.9 from the field, 31.0 from beyond the arc, and 68.8 from the free-throw line.
Notably, during her senior season, she led the Sun Belt Conference in rebounds with 9.3 per game, contributing to Troy’s status as the nation’s top rebounding team for the third consecutive season. Hollings’ 9.3 rebounds also rank 10th in Troy’s single-season history.
Standing at 6 feet 2 inches tall, she achieved the sixth-highest point total in a Troy D-I single season with 536 points, culminating her career with numerous notable performances, including 46 double-digit scoring outings, nine 20-plus point games, and a career-high of 30 points against FIU in the second round of the WNIT.
Originally from West Point, Hollings earned spots on two All-Sun Belt teams, landing on the third team in 2022-23 with averages of 12.7 points and 8.4 rebounds before advancing to the second team in 2023-24.
She concluded her career by surpassing 1,000 points in her final game against Minnesota (Fab 4), reaching a total of 1,012 points. Graduating as part of the Class of 2024 at Troy, Hollings also set a D-I program record with 218 made field goals, totaling 1,060 over her collegiate career.
