Aaron Rodgers has made it clear he won’t be playing for the New Orleans Saints. During a live Q&A with his friend, artist Mike Stud, Rodgers was asked about joining the Saints and simply replied, “No. I’ve played there a couple of times, but the answer is no. I’m too old, I don’t want to live in Louisiana.”
In that same session, Rodgers dropped a subtle hint that he might join the Steelers this season by taking a light jab at the Chicago Bears when asked if he’d ever play for them.
Rodgers responded, “No. But I believe there is a team that might play in Chicago this year, a road trip to Chicago. I love Chicago, though, way more than they love me. It’s been a great relationship all one way.”
The Steelers are scheduled to play the Bears in Chicago on November 23rd, during Week 12.
When asked directly if he would sign with the Steelers, Rodgers gave a non-committal reply: “You never know.”
This seems like another sign that Rodgers’ signing will happen eventually, though the exact timing remains uncertain.
Back in April on the Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers mentioned he wouldn’t sign with a team until he felt ready to fully commit, both professionally and personally.
In a recent Joe Rogan Experience interview, Rodgers hinted at some of the personal challenges he’s facing. He revealed that several people close to him are battling serious illnesses, including cancer.
“I’ve figured it out during the last year when I’ve been in the weeds with these people who are close to me that have cancer,” Rodgers shared.
Rodgers acknowledged that these personal challenges are weighing heavily on him, discussing unconventional treatment options during the podcast. However, he didn’t provide a clear timeline for making any football decisions, emphasizing that his focus remains on his personal life above all else for now.
