The Minnesota Vikings on Friday announced a contract extension for GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah. Dawn Mitchell joined FOX 9 News at 5 to break down what it means for the franchise.
The Minnesota Vikings have officially extended the contract of General Manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, solidifying their commitment to his leadership and long-term vision. Since joining the organization in 2022 alongside head coach Kevin O’Connell, Adofo-Mensah has helped guide the team to a 34-17 record and two playoff appearances.
The Vikings enjoyed a standout 14-3 season in 2024, their best since 1998, and currently hold the third-best winning percentage in the NFC over the last three seasons (.667), trailing only the Eagles and Lions.

Co-owner Mark Wilf praised Adofo-Mensah’s strategic approach and collaboration with the coaching staff, stating, “His dedication and forward-thinking approach have been instrumental in shaping our roster and future.” Adofo-Mensah expressed gratitude for the opportunity and emphasized his continued focus on building a perennial contender. Before joining the Vikings, the 43-year-old executive held front office positions with the San Francisco 49ers and Cleveland Browns.
This extension underscores the Vikings’ confidence in Adofo-Mensah’s leadership and vision for the team’s future. As the team continues to build on its recent success, the front office remains focused on maintaining a competitive roster and pursuing a championship.
