Bills Add Three Offensive Starters to Injury Report

The Buffalo Bills aim to break their early-season losing streak on Monday as they head to face the New York Jets. After a strong start, the Bills have faced offensive challenges in recent weeks, particularly last week when they lost receiver Khalil Shakir to an ankle injury. As they prepare for the Jets, three significant offensive players appeared on their injury report on Wednesday.

Running back James Cook and receiver Curtis Samuel missed practice due to foot and toe injuries, while receiver Mack Hollins was limited in practice. Coach Sean McDermott noted that all injuries occurred during the Bills’ loss to the Houston Texans on Sunday.

We’ll see where it goes,” McDermott said. “We’ll know a little bit more coming off of today and into tomorrow.”

With Shakir also missing another practice, the Bills could be without their starting running back and all their starting receivers, which would be a significant setback against a tough Jets defense. Josh Allen struggled greatly against the Texans without Shakir, recording only 131 passing yards and completing under 30 percent of his passes.

Buffalo did at least get some good news on the defensive side of the ball, as slot cornerback Taron Johnson practiced once again after returning to the field last week. Johnson has not started since he suffered a forearm injury in Week 1.
