The San Jose Sharks announced Friday that they have signed free agent forward Jeff Skinner to a one-year contract valued at \$3 million.
Jeff Skinner, 33, recently completed a one-year tenure with the Edmonton Oilers, where he made his first playoff appearance in his 15-year NHL career. The Oilers advanced to the Stanley Cup Final but fell to the Florida Panthers in six games, extending their championship drought that dates back to 1990.
In the regular season, Skinner tallied 16 goals and 13 assists across 72 games, and chipped in a goal and an assist in five postseason contests.

Drafted seventh overall by the Carolina Hurricanes in 2010, Skinner went on to win the Calder Memorial Trophy in 2011 as the NHL’s top rookie.
Across 15 seasons with the Hurricanes (2010–2018), Buffalo Sabres (2018–2024), and Oilers, Skinner has totaled 373 goals and 326 assists in 1,078 games.
