Ezequiel Durán, the Texas Rangers infielder, has recently reached a startling milestone that hasn’t been seen within the organization in over 15 years. Despite logging over 200 plate appearances this season, he has yet to hit a home run — a rare drought for a player expected to bring offensive depth.
This development is particularly surprising given Durán’s performance in previous seasons. In 2023, he showcased legitimate power, launching 12 home runs in just 70 games before the All-Star break. At the time, it looked like the Rangers had found a middle infielder with real slugging potential.
Now in 2025, that promise has seemingly vanished. Durán’s current total of 204 plate appearances without a home run stands in stark contrast to those early expectations. Not since Elvis Andrus in 2010 has a Rangers player gone this deep into a season with a similar power outage.
