Former Montreal Canadiens defenseman Nathan Beaulieu has officially announced his retirement, concluding a professional hockey career that spanned over a decade. He wraps up his time in the NHL with 12 goals and 98 points across 471 games played for the Canadiens, Sabres, Jets, and Ducks.

Drafted 17th overall by Montreal in 2011, Beaulieu spent the last two seasons overseas—first with Kloten HC in Switzerland, where he was teammates with Canadiens prospect David Reinbacher, and later with a brief eight-game stint in the KHL.

Beaulieu was traded by the Canadiens to the Buffalo Sabres in 2017 in exchange for a third-round pick. Before his NHL days, he had a standout junior career, winning two QMJHL titles and a Memorial Cup with the Saint John Sea Dogs.

The Winnipeg Jets acknowledged his retirement with a message of support on their official X (formerly Twitter) account.
