The San Jose Sharks have signed forward Jeff Skinner to a one-year, $3 million contract, the team announced on Friday.
Now 33 years old, Skinner spent last season with the Edmonton Oilers, where he made his first playoff appearance in his 15-year NHL career. The Oilers reached the Stanley Cup Final but were defeated by the Florida Panthers in six games, falling short of their first championship since 1990.
During the regular season, Skinner recorded 16 goals and 13 assists over 72 games. He added one goal and one assist in five postseason appearances.
Originally selected seventh overall by the Carolina Hurricanes in the 2010 NHL Draft, Skinner was named the NHL’s top rookie in 2011, earning the Calder Memorial Trophy.
Over the course of 15 NHL seasons with the Carolina Hurricanes (2010–2018), Buffalo Sabres (2018–2024), and Edmonton Oilers, Jeff Skinner has accumulated 373 goals and 326 assists across 1,078 career games.
