The Houston Astros have brought back right-handed pitcher Hector Neris, according to multiple reports.
Neris is a well-known figure in Houston, having spent three seasons with the Astros from 2022 to 2024. During his time with the team, he appeared in 157 games, recording a 2.90 ERA and tallying 174 strikeouts.
The 36-year-old veteran started the 2025 season with the Atlanta Braves but struggled, giving up five runs in just one total inning over two outings. He was designated for assignment in March.
After his brief stint with the Braves, Neris signed with the Los Angeles Angels in April. He went on to pitch in 21 games, posting a 5.14 ERA with 19 strikeouts over 14 innings. The veteran reliever was released by the Angels on July 3rd.
