Fitter and Faster Swim Camps proudly sponsors SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel, celebrating the commitment news of student-athletes who have dedicated years to achieving their dream of swimming in college.

Molly Yacoviello, a standout swimmer from York, Pennsylvania, has announced her verbal commitment to the University of South Carolina as part of the Class of 2029. Originally committed to the University of Wisconsin, Yacoviello explained her decision to make the switch:

“After thoughtful conversations with my family and coaches, I’m incredibly excited and grateful to announce my commitment to continue both my academic and athletic career at the University of South Carolina! Huge thanks to everyone who has supported me — my coaches, teammates, family, and friends. A special thank you to Coach Jeff for the opportunity to join the Gamecocks family. Most importantly, I give all glory to God for guiding me through this process. Go, Cocks!”

2025 “Best of the Rest” Molly Yacoviello Switches Commitment from Wisconsin to South Carolina

A breaststroke and individual medley specialist, Yacoviello was named among SwimSwam’s “Best of the Rest” recruits for the high school class of 2025. At the 2025 YMCA National Short Course Championships in March, she took gold in the 200 breast (2:11.66), 200 fly (1:58.55), and 400 IM (4:15.05), and earned silver in the 200 IM (2:00.43). The year prior, she claimed YMCA national titles in both the 100 (1:01.99) and 200 breast (2:10.87).

In long course meters (LCM), she had a strong showing at the 2024 Speedo Summer Championships in Irvine, notching new personal bests in the 100 breast (1:11.86), 200 breast (2:34.46), and 400 IM (4:58.79), and making finals in all three.

Yacoviello has also posted lifetime bests this season in the LCM 200/400 freestyle and 100 butterfly.

Top SCY times:

  • 100 breast – 1:01.81
  • 200 breast – 2:10.87
  • 200 IM – 2:00.43
  • 400 IM – 4:15.05
  • 200 fly – 1:58.55

Her current 200 breast time would have placed her in the “B” final at the 2025 SEC Championships. Based on last year’s cutoffs, her performances in the 100 breast, 200 IM, 400 IM, and 200 fly are all approaching SEC scoring range.

Yacoviello will arrive in Columbia next fall alongside fellow Gamecock commits Tori Abruzzo, Alexis Dalton, Kesa Taivassalo, Maddie Reynolds, and Taylor Grimley. She’ll have one overlapping season with her former York YMCA teammate Meaghan Harnish, now a senior on the team.
