CINCINNATI — Elly De La Cruz powered the Reds past the Yankees on Monday night, going deep, tripling, and driving in three runs in a 6-1 Cincinnati win.

Aaron Judge provided the Yankees’ lone highlight with his 28th home run of the season, while Cody Bellinger collected three hits.

The Reds took control in the fourth inning, scoring three runs to break a 1-0 deficit. Elly De La Cruz, who finished just a double shy of the cycle, tied the game with an RBI triple over Cody Bellinger’s head in center. He then scored the go-ahead run on a Spencer Steer sacrifice fly.
Moments later, Gavin Lux extended the lead with a solo home run to right, taking Yankees rookie Allan Winans deep in his MLB debut.
De La Cruz continued his big night with an RBI single in the fifth and a solo homer to right to lead off the eighth. He’s now batting .309 in June, with six homers and 12 RBI, including a 7-for-17 surge over his last four games featuring two home runs and two RBI.
Aaron Judge opened the scoring with a towering solo home run into the upper deck in left field off Nick Lodolo in the first inning—his fourth homer in 11 career games against the Reds.
The Yankees threatened again in the fifth after a Jasson Domínguez leadoff single, but Jake Fraley made a leaping catch at the wall in right to rob Paul Goldschmidt of a potential extra-base hit, snuffing out the momentum.
New York ultimately struggled mightily with runners on, going 0-for-12 with runners in scoring position.
Scott Barlow (3-0) earned the win in relief for Cincinnati, tossing 1 2/3 scoreless innings as the second of five Reds pitchers.

Chase Burns, the 2024 ACC Pitcher of the Year at Wake Forest, continues his rapid rise to the majors after transferring from Tennessee. Now, the former top college arm is set for his MLB debut Tuesday night with the Reds.
Meanwhile, in Chicago, the Diamondbacks rolled to a 10-0 win over the White Sox, powered by Pavin Smith, who hit two home runs and drove in four. Despite the big win, Arizona took a hit as both Eugenio Suárez and Josh Naylor left the game due to injuries.
On the mound, Eduardo Rodriguez (3-4) was dominant, allowing five hits and striking out 10 over six shutout innings. Anthony DeSclafani closed it out with three hitless innings and picked up his first career save, striking out four.
