Following a recent tryout, the New Orleans Saints have signed tight end Seth Green, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The addition of Green brings the Saints’ offseason roster to the maximum of 90 players, officially filling all available spots.

Seth Green in the UFL
In January 2024, Seth Green was selected by the Arlington Renegades in the XFL dispersal draft after initially committing to the Houston Roughnecks. Over two seasons with Arlington, he recorded 24 catches for 236 yards and two touchdowns.
In 2025, Green was named the Renegades’ nominee for UFL Sportsman of the Year, an award recognizing a player who exemplifies both on-field excellence and a strong commitment to community impact.
After a workout invitation from the New Orleans Saints last week, the team officially signed Green to the roster today. With his addition, the Saints now have all 90 roster spots filled as they head into training camp.
Seth Green’s subtle connection to Kellen Moore
Coming out of high school, Seth Green was viewed as a dual-threat quarterback. In his senior year, he completed 10 of 17 passes for 212 yards and a touchdown, while also rushing for 98 yards and a score on 10 carries.
At the University of Minnesota, however, Green transitioned into more of a wildcat specialist. He totaled 114 rushing yards and 15 rushing touchdowns, along with six receptions for 83 yards. After the 2020 season, he transferred to the University of Houston, where he made the full switch to tight end. In his debut season at the position, Green recorded 13 catches for 153 yards and three touchdowns, with no rushing attempts.
He went undrafted in 2022 and was waived by the Houston Texans in August. Green remained in Texas, joining the Dallas Cowboys’ practice squad in October. Though Dallas initially released him, they re-signed him on a reserve/future deal after the season, only to waive him again the following fall.
Seth Green will reunite with Kellen Moore in New Orleans, as Moore now serves as the Saints’ offensive coordinator after holding the same role with the Dallas Cowboys in 2022. Green spent time on the Cowboys’ practice squad that year, giving him prior exposure to Moore’s offensive system—an experience that could give him a head start heading into training camp.
