JUST IN: Steelers Sign Veteran Lineman Ahead of Training Camp

The Pittsburgh Steelers continue to reshape their roster ahead of the 2025 season.

On Wednesday, the team announced the addition of offensive lineman Nick Broeker, who brings experience from Ole Miss, the Buffalo Bills, and the Houston Texans.

Broeker was waived by the Texans on May 9 earlier this offseason.

A native of Springfield, Illinois, Broeker was selected by the Bills with the 230th overall pick in the seventh round of the 2023 NFL Draft. He signed a four-year, $3.94 million contract with Buffalo but didn’t make the team’s final 53-man roster.

Broeker was claimed off waivers by the Texans in August 2023 and went on to appear in 12 games over two seasons in Houston before being released this offseason.

He now joins a crowded competition along Pittsburgh’s offensive line, which includes Aiden Williams, Spencer Anderson, Calvin Anderson, Dylan Cook, Troy Fautanu, Broderick Jones, and Gareth Waitman.

At Ole Miss, Broeker played in all 12 games as a true freshman, started 10 games at left tackle in 2020, and held the same spot for 13 games in 2021. In his senior year (2022), he transitioned to guard, demonstrating his flexibility on the line. That season, he earned the Kent Hull Trophy, awarded to the top collegiate offensive lineman in Mississippi

The Steelers are aiming for a rebound after last season’s disappointing finish, which ended with a 28-14 Wild Card loss to division rival Baltimore Ravens. That defeat capped a five-game losing streak to close out the year.
