Major Breaking: Steelers Insider Reveals Another Surprising WR Plan

The Pittsburgh Steelers may be more comfortable than many expect.

Steelers Trade George Pickens, Leave Wide Receiver Room in Flux

The Pittsburgh Steelers have officially moved on from George Pickens, sending the wide receiver to the Dallas Cowboys and ending what had been a rocky relationship between player and team.

Despite previously acquiring DK Metcalf and signing veteran Robert Woods, the Steelers now find themselves thin at wide receiver once again. The focus has quickly shifted to how—or if—the team plans to address the growing need at the position.

In his weekly Q&A, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reporter Gerry Dulac was asked if another receiver trade could be in the works. His response was blunt: “No more WR trades. They already did that.”

The Steelers’ offense has undergone near-constant turnover in recent years, with no quarterback remaining on the roster from season to season for the past three years. The wide receiver group has experienced similar instability.

As the offseason winds down, viable wideout options are increasingly scarce. Most of the top talent is already signed, meaning Pittsburgh would need to either hope for an unexpected breakout from a lesser name or make another deal to patch the hole.

With 12 picks in the upcoming NFL Draft, the Steelers have the assets to be active on the trade market. Given the holes that still exist on offense, relying entirely on draft picks would be a risky strategy. Unless the front office believes it can hit on nearly every selection, leveraging some of that draft capital for immediate help seems like a logical path forward.
