The Ravens have exercised the fifth-year option for S Kyle Hamilton, but did not use it on C Tyler Linderbaum.
The Baltimore Ravens have made significant contract decisions regarding two of their 2022 first-round draft picks, safety Kyle Hamilton and center Tyler Linderbaum.
The team has exercised Hamilton’s fifth-year option, securing him through the 2026 season at a projected $18.6 million. Hamilton, drafted 14th overall, has established himself as a key defensive player with 250 tackles, seven sacks, five interceptions, and multiple accolades, including a 2023 first-team All-Pro selection and two Pro Bowl appearances.
Conversely, the Ravens declined Linderbaum’s fifth-year option, which would have committed $23.4 million to him in 2026. Instead, Linderbaum will play the final season of his four-year, $13.23 million rookie contract. The team aims to negotiate a long-term extension before he becomes a free agent after the 2025 season.
General Manager Eric DeCosta emphasized that the team envisions long-term futures for both players, indicating their importance in the Ravens’ plans moving forward.
These decisions reflect the Ravens’ strategic approach to roster management and financial planning, balancing immediate salary cap considerations with long-term team-building goals.
